Beauty from the Inside Out

Are you ready for a glow-up? Ever heard the saying, you are what you eat? It’s especially true when it comes to healthy, glowing skin. In this article, I’m sharing my top 5 tips for beauty from the inside out, including my favorite collagen supplement.

Your body has its own youth preservation, it’s simply a matter of tapping into it. It doesn’t matter if you use the BEST topical anti-aging products on the market if you are working against your own body. With these tips, you can ensure you are getting all the amazing anti-aging benefits your body has to offer!

You Are What You Eat

WATER

I’m sure you’ve heard it before and you’re going to hear it again. Water intake matters and most adults don’t consume the minimum recommendation per day. Focusing on this one thing will drastically change the appearance of wrinkles, the skin’s elasticity, and overall appearance.

This week focus on your hydration game. If you are unsure how much to drink, simply divide your weight by two and that is the number of ounces you need per day. Simple right?  So, if you weigh 140, start with 70 ounces.

Ready for the added bonus? Getting your water in daily also helps flush toxins. Hello, Glow!

LEAFY GREENS

There is no better way to increase your vitamin intake than by eating leafy greens. Think of them as the ABCs of vitamins and minerals. No matter what your choice of green is, you will find plenty of vitamins and minerals.

The vitamins and minerals found in greens help skin produce new cells and get rid of the old ones, keeping your skin looking bright and radiant. Whip up a fresh spinach salad for lunch or add spinach to your breakfast smoothie to decrease those pesky wrinkles.

BERRIES

Blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries are known to help repair damaged tissue as well as protection from further damage. In addition to being a great source of vitamins, these awesome berries also include phytochemicals.

Add them to salads, smoothies, oatmeal, or as a side.

AVOCADO

This powerhouse is a must. Avocados have so many benefits it would be crazy NOT to add them into your weekly food rotation. The vitamins and monosaturated fat help to keep the skin soft and moisturized. Not to mention that avocados are good for hair, eyes, and your brain (added bonus)!

BEAUTY’S SECRET WEAPON: COLLAGEN SUPPLEMENT

TYPE II COLLAGEN

First, we start losing collagen at the early age of twenty, and the decline increases as we age. This is why it’s so important to supplement.

Not all collagens are created equal. Many that you find on the market (e.g. Costco) are glorified protein. If you’re determined to glow from the inside out, find type II collagen for maximum benefit.

My favorite brand is blended with CoVera and has a boost of hyaluronic acid for hydration. Its unique plant-based vitamin delivery system is designed to preserve and restore your youth and vitality.

HIGHLIGHTS:

• Alleviates dry skin

• Hydrates and plumps skin

• Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

• Increases muscle mass

Supports healthy bones

• Improves immunity

• Supports heart health

• Strengthens hair and nails

BONUS TIP - SLEEP

Sleep is when your body recovers from a busy day, and your skin cells undergo repair and turn over slightly faster to help your complexion appear bright and healthy-looking when you wake up. Do what it takes to ensure you get 6-8 hours per night and watch your inner glow increase.
